The first ever Tesla Supercharger in Malaysia was installed by EV Connection within a short span of 2 weeks. 8 superchargers (up to 250kW x 2) were installed as part of the inaugural Supercharger network. This was done at Pavillion KL, and the network has since expanded to multiple locations.
EV Connection installed the first ever 350kW public DC charger in Southeast Asia is right here in Malaysia at our X Park Sunway Serene public charging hub. The hub consists of one 350kW DC Super Charger, one 180kW DC charger, and four units of 11kW ABB AC charger.
Malaysia’s first-ever dynamic charger was brought in by EVC at the Bangi Golf Course charging hub. Kempower’s dynamic charging technology enables EV drivers to have an efficient recharge by allowing multiple users to share a charger, whereby the energy is distributed automatically.
EVC installed the very first BESS Integrated Charging System in Malaysia at the Behrang R&R. When multiple EVs need to charge at the same time, it can put constraints on the local grid. Battery storage systems serve as a buffer between the grid and demand from vehicles.
In collaboration with BMW, EV Connection developed the very first mobile EV charging vehicle powered by repurposed BMW and MINI electric vehicle batteries. It is able to house 16 units of repurposed BMW battery modules.
EVC, via Jomcharge, was the first charging operator in Malaysia to introduce the per kWh pricing to the EV community. It was also one of the very first companies to receive the Public Installation License issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).
EVC is the first CPO in Malaysia to introduce the AutoCharge feature, one which allows users to simply plug in the charger into their vehicle and AutoCharge, without having to scan QR codes or tap RFID cards.
