How To Purchase SP Group EV Charging Credits For Use When Travelling To Singapore?

Via our partnership with SP Group (SP), Malaysian EV drivers can now pre-purchase SP charging credits for use when travelling to Singapore.

What Is This Partnership About?

Many Malaysians, especially those who live in the Southern state of Johor,  travel to Singapore on a regular basis, be it for work or for leisure. With the amount of EVs being sold in Malaysia also increasing at a rapid pace over the past year, these Malaysian EV drivers who travel across the border will require access to charging networks within the city-state itself. Via this partnership between JomCharge & SP Group (SP), we now allow Malaysian users to pre-purchase SP charging credits for use on the SP app when they are in Singapore. All without the need for a Singaporean phone number or Singaporean debit / credit card.

Both parties are currently also planning out Phase 2 of this partnership, which will involve roaming across both the JomCharge & SP Mobility networks.

Who Can Purchase?

Currently, the aforementioned pre-purchase is only open to Aion owners in Malaysia. You may purchase by submitting your details via the below form. There are two options for purchase – 50 kWh (RM130) or 100 kWh (RM250). For reference a full charge of the Aion Y Plus will be around 63.2 kWh.

If you are not an Aion owner but you are still interested in purchasing these credits, you may also submit your interest by emailing us at support@ev-connection.com and we will contact you when this programme is open to non-Aion users. Feel free to use the live chat function or drop us an email at support@ev-connection.com if you require any assistance.

FAQs

JomCharge is a leading Malaysian charging point operator. On the JomCharge app you are able to locate almost 70% of all EV Chargers in Malaysia.

SP Mobility and JomCharge have partnered up for an exclusive cross-border charging credits collaboration. This means that JomCharge charging credits are only made available in Singapore through SP Mobility, and SP Mobility charging credits are only made available in Malaysia through JomCharge.

At the start of this collaboration, both SP Mobility and JomCharge are only making the charging credits available through selected automotive OEM partners. Specifically, for JomCharge users, SP Mobility charging credits can only be purchased if you own an Aion vehicle.

If are an Aion owner, you can purchase SP Mobility charging credits by either filling up this form.

Please allow at least 2 weeks from the account sign-up date for the SP Mobility charging credits to be uploaded into your SP app. You will receive an email from SP Mobility once the charging credits are ready for use. You may check the amount of charging credits you have via the SP app.

If you own an Aion, you can purchase more SP Mobility charging credits by filling up this form.

The charging credits can only be used at chargers accessible on the SP app.

SP Mobility’s charging credits are indicated in terms of kWh. You will be able to see the balance credit in your account and may charge your vehicle up to that quantity.

Once the charging credits are depleted, users may continue to charge via the SP app by paying for the kWh consumed through their credit card based on the prevailing charging rates shown in SGD on the SP app.

Open the SP app and access the EV Charging function. Search for the location you are at and plug the cable into the vehicle. Scan the QR code or enter the serial number of the charger to start charging.

SP Mobility charging credits are valid for 6 months. JomCharge charging credits are also valid for 6 months.

Charging credits will not be extended once they have expired. Hence, please take note of the expiry date and plan your trips accordingly.

Charging credits are tied to your JomCharge or SP user account and cannot be transferred nor exchanged for cash.

Users can search for the nearest available SP Mobility fast and slow charging points on the SP app with the GPS function turned on. At the charging location, plug the cable into the vehicle. Scan the QR code or enter the serial number of the charger to start charging. Users can track the charging session on the app and will be notified of payment details once charging has been completed.

SP Mobility users will first select the credit or debit card to use for the charging session, in cases where charging credits may be insufficient to complete a full charge. Once the session is completed, there will be a drawdown of the available charging credits. If payment is required thereafter, the remaining amount will be charged to the selected credit or debit card. Users should also check the charging rates before they start a charging session. Do note that idle fees have been implemented at some locations, and your charging credits cannot be used to offset any idle fees that may have been incurred during your charging session. Please click here for the list of locations where idle fees have been implemented.

Please kindly ensure your mobile phone is able to roam in Singapore, or one with a valid Singapore SIM card to use the SP app.

For JomCharge customers, please contact the SP Mobility customer support hotline at +65 6916 7799 during operating hours for any questions or inquiries. SP Mobility operating hours are currently Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 11pm; and Saturdays and Sundays, 9am to 1pm (excluding public holidays).
